NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin, along with his fiance Michelle Rubin, was arrested on Sunday (March 10) after witnesses allegedly saw the couple arguing around 8:30 a.m. along the shoulder of Highway 126, near Piru, Calif.
According to a spokesperson for the Ventura County Jail, both Scantlin and Rubin were arrested on domestic violence charges and released on $20,000 bail each.
Several witnesses allegedly saw Scantlin force Rubin into a Jeep Cherokee driven by a third party. The Jeep allegedly sped off while the struggle continued from inside, and officers pulled the vehicle over down the road.
The details of the arrest strike an odd similarity with the band's video for "Control," which features Scantlin being booted out of a pickup truck driven by a female friend after the two have an argument. The woman flips Scantlin the bird and speeds off. Calls to Interscope Records for comment were not returned by press time.
Meanwhile, Puddle of Mudd is scheduled to begin a North American tour on Tuesday (March 12) in Austin, Texas.
