Biography
TAUS is the musical project of Oda Eirin Almeland, a 24-year-old artist from Voss, Norway. Known for her vibrant and energetic "vossapop" style, TAUS blends catchy melodies with playful lyrics, often drawing inspiration from personal experiences and everyday moments. Her music captures the essence of youthful exuberance and the charm of small-town life in Norway.
In early 2025, TAUS released the single "Angra Ingenting", which quickly gained popularity. The song's upbeat tempo and reflective lyrics resonated with listeners, leading to its A-listing on NRK P1, Norway's national radio station. By mid-May 2025, "Angra Ingenting" had topped the Norwegian radio charts, making TAUS the most-played Norwegian artist on the radio at that time.
Prior to "Angra Ingenting," TAUS released her debut single "Tyven" in May 2024. The track, which tells a whimsical story of stealing a shampoo bottle as a keepsake from a romantic encounter, received significant airplay. It was A-listed on NRK P1 and became one of the top ten most-played songs on Norwegian radio in 2024. The song has since garnered over 100,000 streams on Spotify.
In 2025, TAUS was awarded the Vestlandssatsinga prize after a standout performance at the 100 Dagar festival in Stord. This recognition secured her ten paid festival gigs throughout the summer of 2025, providing her with valuable exposure and experience in the Norwegian music scene.
