Strange Anthem Releases New Album, 'EP Volume 1'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The singer, songwriter and producer known as Strange Anthem has released his latest album, "EP Volume 1." The album is comprised of three original tracks, "Forsaken Love," "Dreamer," and "Juggler" for an approximate total listening time of 13 minutes. A partly rocking, partly grooving record with dark undertones and an industrial heart, "EP Volume 1" is one of the most intriguing alternative albums of 2014 so far.

Strange Anthem cites as main artistic influences Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, New Order, Michael Jackson, Beastie Boys, Genesis, Jeff Wayne, and The Cure. Of these, the EP draws mainly from the more shadowy elements. Bass lines and percussion are prominent, and even accentuated by blithely rakish hip-hop vocals on "Juggler."

Strange Anthem writes, "I like to think of my music as a fusion of the old and the new, from the rawness and simplicity of guitar, ranging from ambient acoustics to grinding electrics, to the subsonic punch and complexity of electronic sounds."

Attributes of grunge music fill out the remainder of Strange Anthem's style. Fans of bands such as Faith No More, NIN, Depeche Mode and Pop Will Eat Itself are likely to be especially enthusiastic about this first, remarkable offering from Strange Anthem.

The unusually strong rhythms of Strange Anthem's "EP Volume 1" stem from the artist's instrumental background.

"I started getting involved in music through being a drummer," writes Strange Anthem, "just jamming and having fun playing in a band."

Strange Anthem is a solo project based in Australia's music hotbed of Melbourne. Speaking of the themes of his record, SA writes, "The message or intention of 'EP Volume 1' is to paint a collage of ideas, emotions and rhythms that provoke and excite [you] to move your body and mind. There are truths to bear, secrets to tell and wounds to heal. I invite my listeners to pull back the curtain and look inside to find the drama that awaits within."

"EP Volume 1" by Strange Anthem is available online worldwide. Get in early.
