Cellist Gavriel Lipkind Performs The Last Three Bach Suites (4,5,6) In The Tonhalle Zurich On February 1, 2014!
ZURICJ, Switzerland (Top40 Charts/ Florentine Gallwas Communication & PR) Gavriel Lipkind is known for his radical musical thought, exceptional virtuosity, and unique lyricism. His Bach recording has been re-released in four different exclusive editions over the past 10 years and received more than 1000 press reviews from all around the world. It became a celebrated jewel in every music library and a standard reference work.

Born in 1977 in Israel, Lipkind enjoyed an early stellar rise to fame. Already at this young age he worked alongside outstanding musicians such as Zubin Mehta, Philippe Entremont, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Yehudi Menuhin, Pinchas Zukerman, Yuri Bashmet and Gidon Kremer and appeared in some of the world's most prestigious venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and Suntory Hall in Tokyo with orchestras such as the Israel Philharmonic, the Munich Philharmonic and the Baltimore Symphony. The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung wrote of him: "A New Star Ascends the Cello Sky".

At the pinnacle of his youthful career Lipkind decided to give up his concert activity and live alone with the Bach Suites for a few years away from the concert stage, expend his repertoire, produce recordings, and liaise with composers.

Lipkind's performances now represent a rare combination of deep conceptual integrity with a powerful physical impact. For the first time since his retreat period, Lipkind will perform Bach's cello suites in Zürich. The concert marks a decade since his recording of these pieces.
