Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ ER:M+M) The long-awaited album De La Tierra made its debut as #1 in sales on the iTunes Latin rock chart in the United States, Argentina and Colombia, positioning itself on the general charts among the 5 most sold records on their release day. Amazon also reported this to be one of the 5 most sold records on their lists, while DLT positioned itself among the 5 most sold rock records on iTunes in Mexico, placing it on the general list among the 15 most popular records in terms of sales.
Despite the limited space there is for this genre's promotion, this is the first time a Latin metal group makes their debut in first position for sales. The album was simultaneously released throughout the American continent and in several European countries in a joint effort by Roadrunner Records and Warner
Music Latina.
In the United States, and during the week of its release, DLT was the second most-added album in the programming of college radio hard rock charts, as reported by CMJ (College
Music Journal). Over 40 radio stations that cover hard rock/metal during the day, reported to have added this album to their programming this week.
The long-awaited album's debut is a powerful delivery of 11 tracks presented by
Andreas Kisser, guitar player of Sepultura, Andrés Giménez, former frontman of A.N.I.M.A.L., Sr. Flavio, bass player from
Los Fabulosos Cadillacs and Alex González, drummer of Maná - all put together in a highly anticipated record by the group's same name: DE LA TIERRA. The single "Maldita Historia" that is part of this record has been released last September, and its music video has been directed by
Carlos Perez (Elastic People). While the group is rehearsing to get ready for their first international tour that will be announced in the next few weeks, De La Tierra confirmed their participation at the Vive
Latino Festival, the biggest Latin rock festival that takes place in Mexico City and draws over 1 million spectators every year throughout the 4 days of the festival. DLT will perform on the festival's third Saturday, March 29.
De La Tierra is the album made by 4 friends who are joined by the same feeling of playing Latin metal rock. The result is a well-made album that has been recorded and mixed by Stanley Soares (Motörhead, Sepultura) at Sao Paulo, Guadalajara, Buenos Aires and Los Angeles and produced by the group themselves. The record which opens a new chapter for the members of De La Tierra includes lyrics sung exclusively in Spanish with Portuguese influences, thereby elevating the group's latin roots which are reflected in the group's name.
De La Tierra will make the video for their second single in Argentina at the end of this month.
