NASHVILLE, TN. (AristoMedia/ www.aristomedia.com) - The 2004 Canadian Country Music Awards presented by Chevy Trucks showcased some of America's top stars at Rexall Place on Monday night.

It is a safe bet to say the evening belonged to artist Carolyn Dawn Johnson.. On top of performing her hit single "Die of a Broken Heart," which won SOCAN Song of the Year, Johnson was presented with three other CCMA Awards throughout the course of the evening – Album of the Year for Dress Rehearsal and Single of the Year and the CMT/Canada Video of the Year for "Simple Life."

Terri Clark was voted the 2004 Female Artist of the Year as well as the winner of the Kraft Cheez Whiz Fans' Choice Award, voted on by fans from coast to coast. Clark set a new record this year by being present this award for an unprecedented fourth year in a row.

American artist Alan Jackson also received recognition with his release Alan Jackson's Greatest Hits winning the Top Selling Album Award.

Jason McCoy took home his second Male Artist of the Year Award, and Doc Walker grabbed their first Group of the Year Award. Newcomer George Canyon was named Chevy Trucks Rising Star.

After having participated in the tribute to the 2004 Hall of Fame inductees The Good Brothers, The Corb Lund Band took home the Roots Artist of the Year award.

This year's CCMA Award show was broadcast live on CBC television and on CMT in the U.S., and repeat broadcasts will be available on CMT/Canada. A select list of winners is below. The full list of winners is attached.
