
NEW YORK (www.danworkman.com) - 2004 is proving to be a hot year for producer/mixer/engineer Dan Workman with dual TEC award nominations for contribution to Beyonce's multi-platinum album Dangerously In Love.
Not only is Workman nominated as engineer, but also SugarHill Studios where he is President and Co-owner. 'The TEC Award nomination is a unique honor,' he assessed. 'It is an industry award acknowledging the making of records as a delicate balance between one's head (technical excellence), and heart (artistic excellence). Aside from that, it's just really cool to be nominated along side of so many of my heroes & mentors!'

Nominees and winners of the TEC Awards are determined through initial selections in April by a Nominating Panel made up of prominent professionals from all areas of the audio industry. Nominees are selected in the Technical and Creative fields, which consist of 24 sub-categories. Eligible projects or products are those that represent superior accomplishment in their respective fields completed or released during the eligibility period. A Voter's Guide and ballot appear in the
September 2004 issue of Mix magazine and constitute the final round of voting for the TEC Awards to be presented during the AES convention in San Francisco on October 30th.
