NEW YORK (Universal Records) - Three-time Grammy winning artist
Nelly makes history today as he becomes the first rapper ever to release two separate albums, Sweat and Suit, on the same day. Sweat, leading off with the Neptunes-produced club hit, "Flap Your Wings," and "
Tilt Ya Head Back" with
Christina Aguilera, is the more street-oriented CD, while Suit, featuring the smash hit "
My Place" with R&B newcomer Jaheim, contains more melodic grooves.
Both songs are being well-received by the targeted audiences. "Flap Your Wings" is a Top 20 hit at the Rap and Urban radio formats and "My Place" is Top 5 at the Crossover, Urban and Rap formats. Additionally, Nelly is the No 1 artist on both MTV and BET with both videos in heavy rotation.
Both albums contain top-notch guest appearances. In addition to Christina Aguilera, Sweat also boasts collaborations with Fat Joe, Missy, Lil' Flip and the rest of Nelly's St. Lunatics crew. Suit features pairings with Snoop Dogg, Ronald Isley, Anthony Hamilton and country star Tim McGraw.
In addition to promoting his albums, Nelly is currently filming The Longest Yard, a remake of the 1974 Burt Reynolds classic, starring Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. Fans can catch Nelly on upcoming performances and appearances on MTV, BET and more.
