Doritos Mariachi Band Hit The Headlines In The Daily Star; Band Set To Make A Packet As They Sign With Buble's Agent
CAMBRIDGE, UK (Top40 Charts/ Quite Great Publicity) The Mariachis, the Mexican band made famous across the UK after appearing in Doritos adverts are set to make a seven-figure packet next year having signed with a top booking agency whose client list also includes Michael Bublé and Bryan Adams.

The Leighton-Pope Organisation, headed by Carl Leighton-Pope, is proud of its newest acquisitions, saying:

"According to research, The Doritos ads have made The Mariachis known to 25 million households across the country, and we're thrilled to work with them. Within days of signing, we had offers from across the UK and Europe. With all these bookings coming in they have the potential to make their first million within a year, which is great for a group from such a humble background."

Their recent success has seen them travel a long way from less fortunate beginnings in Central and South America. Each member of the band has come from a difficult background, with one member being bullied at school for having no money. Meanwhile, another shared just two bedrooms with his family of 12 and found himself forced to sleep outside on a balcony with his father.

However, a mutual love of music brought them together. Their hard working partnership really paid off when they were snapped up by Doritos to star in its advertising campaign, and ever since they've made the most of their lucky break.

Their impressive gig list includes wrap parties for movies including Harry Potter and Gulliver's Travels, and sporting events such as the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix and the Paralympic Games. They have even gained royal fans, playing a secret Ritz gig for Prince Charles & Camilla as well as a staff Christmas party at Buckingham Palace - by Royal appointment - as well as recently entertaining 30,000 people at Wireless Festival.

Tickets for their gigs now sell out in hours, and The Mariachis have made sure they appreciate the opportunities they are now given. They can be regularly quoted as saying 'Doritos have changed our lives', and the new contract with the Leighton Pope Organisation will see them continue their meteoric rise.

The Mariachis are also proudly patriotic, wearing outfits manufactured in Mexico and aiming to bring a flavour of Mexican culture to Europe by blending their culture, food and music with well know western pop hits such as The Human League's 'Don't You Want Me', Joan Jett's 'I Love Rock & Roll' and East 17's 'Stay Another Day':
