Music Publishing Group (UMPG) has extended its worldwide publishing agreement with Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and "American Idol" judge Keith Urban, as announced by Kent Earls, Executive Vice President/General Manager, UMPG Nashville. UMPG will continue to publish Urban's catalog throughout the world, including his new album Fuse, which was released on
September 10th. Fuse debuted at No. 1 in the US on both the Billboard 200 and the Country Album charts as well as at the top of both Australia's ARIA Albums chart and Canada's Canadian Albums chart - a first for a male solo Country artist. Urban, who has tallied 15 No. 1 singles throughout his career, has continued to climb up the charts with his current single "
We Were Us" feat.
Miranda Lambert, which has become a Top 5 hit on Billboard's Country Airplay chart.
"Keith's musical talent is incomparable and his latest project, Fuse, is yet another example of his evolution as an artist. And he's proved over and over to be a great songwriter for himself and many others. We're proud to be publishing partners with Keith for over four successful years and look forward to many more together," said Kent Earls, Executive Vice President/General Manager, UMPG Nashville.
Fuse is Keith Urban's seventh studio album. He co-wrote six of its thirteen tracks, including "Somewhere in My Car," "Even the Stars Fall 4 U," "Good Thing," "She's My 11," "Red Camaro," and "Heart Like Mine," while also co-producing every song on the album. The first single off of Fuse, "Little Bit of Everything," was released in May and hit No. 1 on Billboard's US Country Airplay chart.
In addition to Keith Urban, a number of UMPG songwriters co-wrote or co-produced multiple tracks on Fuse, including Mike Elizondo (co-wrote and co-produced both "
Good Thing" and "Red Camaro"), Jimmy Robbins (co-wrote "
We Were Us" feat.
Miranda Lambert), Nathan Chapman (co-produced "
We Were Us" feat.
Miranda Lambert, "Little Bit of Everything," and "
Raise 'Em Up" feat. Eric Church), and Shane McAnally (co-wrote "Come Back to Me"). Jimmy Robbins also co-wrote "Gonna B Good," a bonus track on the deluxe version of Fuse.
