The Schisms Launch Kickstarter Campaign For Vinyl Release, Percentage Goes To Sims Foundation
Austin, Texas (Top40 Charts/ Schisms PR) The Schisms, a post-punk, gypsy-rock band from Austin, Texas, officially launched a Kickstarter Campaign to fund a limited edition vinyl version of their eponymous E.P, with a portion of the proceeds going to The SIMS Foundation , a nonprofit organization that serves Austin musicians and their families with mental healthcare and addiction treatment.

The Vinyl edition will include two new songs, all tracks remixed and remastered, and new artwork along with limited edition t-shirts, posters, and more. Special packages include a vinyl album signed by each member in their own blood (only three available). The Kickstarter Campaign ends on November 24, 2013.

"Artist/fan connection is the only thing saving the music industry at this time," said Miss Genocide, bass player for The Schisms and AVN award-nominated actress. "We wanted to create a new way to become intimate with our fans, to make the campaign truly unique."

The vinyl edition will include all of the elements of a classic vinyl album, such as provocative artwork, images of scantily-clad women, and a backwards message.

The total pledged amount for the campaign is $4,700. 15% of the pledged amount (and any amount over) will go towards The SIMS foundation. Founded in 1995, The SIMS Foundation was erected after beloved Austin musician Sims Ellison, who struggled a long battle with depression, took his life. Today, SIMS connects hundreds of musicians with counseling, psychiatry, and addiction treatment services.

"Some of the most talented and complex artists are troubled, and I'm a strong believer that the mental health of artists is necessity for the existence of art itself," said Genocide.

The Schisms debut E.P. was released in the summer of 2013, and received positive reviews from The Austin Chronicle, Burning Angel, Pop Vulture, and other notable media sites. To promote the kickstarter campaign, The Schisms will have a booth section at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, where they will have t-shirts, stickers, buttons, and CDs for sale, as well as a donation box.
