Walkmen will perform at Union Market on Saturday, November 30th as part of Union Market's Thread. Thread , an expertly curated retail salon located at Dock 5, will feature more than 30 local and national unique and independent brands from around the country from November 29 - December 1, 2013.
The Walkmen, an indie rock band comprised of five Washington D.C. natives, have performed and toured for more than 10 years. Their most recent album 'Heaven' portrays a band hitting maturity, comfortable in its mastery after a decade together, according to the band's lead singer, Hamilton Leithauser. The
Walkmen have toured with Grammy Award winning Arcade Fire, and
Fleet Foxes among others. DJ Will Eastman , who has collaborated with a diverse range of DJs including
Fatboy Slim and Tiesto, will also perform. Eastman is the owner of U Street
Music Hall, which has been named "best dance club in the region" by The Washington Post and a top-10 dance club in
America by Rolling Stone.
The Concert will take place in the alley of Dock 5 on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. VIP tickets are $125 , and include a private area with artisanal food provided by Rappahannock Oysters Co., and cocktails provided by Green Hat Distillery and renowned mixologist Gina Chersevani of Union Market's Buffalo & Bergen.
