London (Top40 Charts/ Right Address) The musician, actor, and philanthropist Sir Bob Geldof, is to be granted the Freedom of the City of London at a ceremony which will take place on the 16th of
September 2013 .
Sir Bob is already a freeman of the city of Dublin, after being awarded the honour in the Irish capital back in March 2006 in recognition of his humanitarian work.
Key-note speaker consultancy, The Right Address, reported the honour in their most recent newsletter , where they also announced that he will be working with them for an upcoming FIDIC event in Barcelona.
FIDIC is the International Federation of Consulting Engineers, who works to develop a sustainable world through engineering. Their event, which takes place at the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya in Barcelona , aims to tackle issues surrounding the fact that increased finance and governance is needed in order for engineers to work more effectively for society as a whole.
The FIDIC will highlight that a large proportion of the worldwide population still struggles for food, water, and shelter, despite the huge advances being made in terms of transport, water supply, energy supply, and infrastructure across society worldwide.
The conference aims to provide further awareness of these issues, and how the last 100 years of engineering can show the way to a more sustainable future.
Geldof will act as a keynote speaker during the event which takes place between the 15th and 18th of September, and includes other notable speakers such as
David Couthard, Randal Pinkett , and Suzanne
Stevens .
The Right Address commented that Geldof "is a charismatic and powerful global speaker, and we are pleased to be working with him this month at the prestigious international FIDIC event in Barcelona."
