NEW YORK (Laura Thomas Band/ www.laurabama.com) - The acclaimed Laura Thomas Band (www.laurabama.com) will return to New York's prestigious Mercury Lounge on Monday September 13 at 9:30PM.
The LT Band includes Laura on vocals and acoustic guitar, Julia Eve on drums, Chris Farrell on lead guitar, Josh Myers on bass, and Ben Lively on violin.

Laura's music is characterized by her powerful and strikingly unique voice complementing folky, Latin-influenced acoustic strumming. Her music conveys diverse messages in tracks ranging from "Slow," the passionate title track from her second self-produced CD, to "Blind Trinity," a political allegory for the powerful oligarchy that is: Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld. Laura Thomas' travels are reflected in world music sounds, and her band infuses every song with an energetic funk-rock feel that renders her a one of-a-kind mixture of Ani Difranco, Paula Cole, and Norah Jones.

The Village Voice has praised Thomas for her "thick-skinned song-poems in jazzoid rhythms." And the Washington Post said, "her voice is capable of tracing melodies as sinuous as the Rock Creek Parkway, and she has a soft spot for writing tender, compassionate or introspective ballads that help set her apart from the rant'n'roll crowd."

Details for the Philadelphia show are as follows:
Monday September 13
Mercury Lounge
217 E. Houston St,
(corner Ave A & Houston)
