Music Fights HIV/AIDS, a national nonprofit focused on educating America's youth about HIV/AIDS prevention. The special free concert will take place at New York's Terminal 5 on Friday, August 23. The event is part of a series of VMAs-themed week concerts and events taking place across New York City and Brooklyn leading up to the 2013 "MTV Video
Music Awards" live from Brooklyn's Barclays Center on August 25 at 9:00pm ET/CT.

Music Awards.

This is the second year in a row that Time Warner Cable has partnered with MTV to present the VMA/Lifebeat Benefit concert. As part of its ongoing mission to deliver messages of HIV awareness and prevention to 13-29 year olds, the annual VMA/Lifebeat Benefit Concert has become a major staple in the 24-hour lead-up to the VMA's, with concerts featuring on-the-verge artists and major acts, such as Phoenix, Kid Cudi, The Beastie Boys, Maroon 5, and more.
