New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Powderfinger Promotions) Amber Sweeney, an accomplished singer-songwriter, releases her third and latest album entitled " The
Starting Line " featuring 5 brand new original songs from
Amber and is now available on iTunes, CD Baby, and more!
Amber has been in numerous bands throughout her childhood and adult life. Her music from her prior band, Everly, has been featured on the CW network's hit television series One Tree Hill ("Quicksand," "Flying Machine & Maybe," "
Girl In The Moon"), as well as another CW show called Life Unexpected ("
Stars").
Amber started playing the guitar at age 6 and has since picked up a variety of instruments with which to create music. She penned her first song at age 14 and experienced her first job as a recording artist at age 15 working with Grammy-nominated producers, co-producing and co-writing songs that have reached the top ten spot on iTunes charts. Since then,
Amber has performed at numerous festivals and has opened for acts such as POD, Jars of Clay, and Jennifer Knapp.
Amber has performed her original material live at Tin Pan South in Nashville and has performed throughout the U.S. and internationally.
Amber's smokey voice and melodies grip the listener from the first track. On "Hit & Run," track 3,
Amber plays everything except the drums. Her pop-blues style keeps her current in today's world of dance hits and power ballads, while reaching back to the origin of rhythm and blues, honoring its foundation. "I want people to feel inspired by some of it - to feel lifted and like they're having a great time; I also want there to be a grit to it all," says Sweeney. Lyrically,
Amber addresses the balance of hope while getting through the worst of life. She is extremely passionate about lending her voice to ending human trafficking and the closing track "Leap" was written specifically with that in mind.
Amber is credited with much of the instrumentation on "The Starting Line," with additional work by musical greats like Jean-Pierre Garau and Chris Chesbro. The album was engineered, mixed, and produced by Gabe Harvison of Ebineezer Productions and mastered by Dana J. White (Midnite,
Martin Sexton,
David Friesen, Lori McKenna, Birch Beer Records, Otis Spann) of Specialized Mastering.
