Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada (Top40 Charts/ Wifi PR Group) New Brunswick Metal Band, Chasing Dragons, takes the attitude and riffs of some of the best heavy metal of the past decades and breathes into it a fire all their own. This heavy quintet plans to tour and promote their music across Canada and the U.S. this summer and into the fall as they prepare to record and release their new record.
Chasing Dragons hope to expand and grow their audience across the United States and Canada and they are on the lookout for opportunities to generate a buzz about their music. Chasing Dragons was formed in 2010 by guitarist, songwriter and metal fan, Brian Mazerolle. With the help of bandmates, Manoli K. on lead vocals, Steve Walsh on lead guitar, Shawn Lester on bass and Greg Melanson on drums, these guys want to capture the essence and the excitement of 70s and 80s metal bands like Mötorhead and Iron Maiden. Drawing influence and inspiration from other heavy hitters (The Cult, Guns 'N' Roses and
Black Sabbath, to name a few) you might ask, just who do Chasing Dragons actually sound like? They sound like Chasing Dragons. They don't get compared to anybody.
With songs about the trials and tribulations of life (struggling to overcome addiction and standing up for yourself and your convictions) the band also readily admits to being inspired by women and horror (one hopes they mean the horror genre of film and fiction). They have some ambitious plans for the rest of 2013. The release of their new EP is scheduled for this summer. The record will be mixed by esteemed rock producer and musician, Harold Hess (Harem Scarem) who has worked with other hard rock bands like My Darkest Days, Muse and Three Days Grace. The band also plans to release a video for their song "
So Alive" from the new record. They're making plans for a fall tour and hope to license their songs to TV and movies, as well as get their new video seen on MTV and Much
Music in Canada.
The band has some live dates lined up. They will be performing at Michael's Bar & Grill in Halifax, Nova Scotia in August. Chasing Dragons also just went to New York for live a performance and interview on the Real
Radio Show that aired on July 6 (www.therealradioshow.com)
The group's music is available through brick and mortar stores, Backstreet Records and Second Spin, both located in the band's hometown of Saint John, New Brunswick, as well as Frank's
Music in Moncton, NB. The band has also made free downloads available on the their website and on their MTV.com page: https://www.mtv.com/artists/chasing-dragons/.
