SAN FRANCISCO, CA. (New Left Musik) - New Left Musik, a new major-independant label based in San Francisco, CA, is currently preparing to release the upcoming explosive album, Guantanamo Bay.
Due to be released in August, the ablum will feature and showcase new material from various new and established artists from the Bay Area's local communities, as well as many others. This will be also one of the first hip hop albums to deal with such issues since hip hop's birth into social consciousness in the mid-late 80's.
Guantanamo Bay will highlight the Bay Area's freshest talent, as New Left Musik will be collaborating with several artists and producers, with secure radio play and promotion (106.1 KMEL and POWER 92.7), press, and major distribution.

Since its incarnation in the late 70's/early 80's, the world has watched and bared witness to the power and influence of Hip-Hop, as the new movement seeped into the crevices of mainstream American culture, redefining a young generation, not just on a national scale, but globally. Hip-Hop culture has since then been an avenue for urban youth to express themselves from different areas all over the nation, from ghetto to ghetto, to be seen on the world's stage. In a world where underclass society is often overlooked and misrepresented, Hip-Hop music is truly urban America's CNN.
However, as much as the music has grown and impacted various cities and areas on a national scale, the music itself is still so young and undeveloped, with many regions still fighting for their chance to shine in the spotlight...

The San Francisco Bay Area is arguably the most overlooked region in the nation's Hip-Hop arena, though ironically, one of the biggest suppliers of its talent. Introducing to the industry such acts as 2 Pac, E-40, Too $hort, MC Hammer, and Spice 1, the Bay Area definitely has had no shortage of talent and influence and is in itself a stand alone Hip-Hop 'Mecca.'
However, the Bay Area just has not had any major labels operating in its region, unlike New York or Los Angeles, to bring the 'industry' to the region while putting up the support to break its local acts on a national level. That is until now...

Introducing its first project to the world, New Left Musik, the San Francisco Bay Area's newest and hottest young major-independent label, will be releasing its controversial debut release entitled Guantanamo Bay. To define this album as 'revolutionary' would be an understatement. Guantanamo Bay features the hottest upcoming talent from the northern California's rich untapped market, showcasing new breakout artists like Oakland rapper Luzion, whose buzz can be heard taking the city by storm, and Nando, another Oakland native whose work on compilation Bay Area Players 5 has been getting major response.

Guantanamo Bay successfully blends together the culture of American 'poli-tricks' with the gritty street sound of the Bay Area's inner-city streets, while at the same time maintaining a universal medium with a wide range of song styles and subject matter that would appeal to any listener.
The album's first explosive single and video, 'I Need A Prayer,' by Chief Thun, another Oakland native, is the perfect example of the album's dark feel, capturing the grim realities of street life in poetic form. Other artists include female emcee Miss Balance, East Palo Alto's own King Cydal, who has already made a name for himself in the Bay Area's mixtape circuit, and newcomer Amadeuz whose single 'Me and My Girlfriend' has already received enormous response.

Guantanamo Bay, more of a street soundtrack than a simple compilation, will capture any listener from beginning to end as they are drawn into its almost movie-like presentation with no need to skip through 'filler' tracks. It is completely solid all the way through. With so many standout tracks, it will be hard to deny the power of Guantanamo Bay and its message to society. With national distribution with Hitman Records, C.E.O industry giant C.
Michael Brae, former protege of Dick Griffey of Solar Records, and under the supervision of industry giant Maestro Curtis, protege of Maurice White of Earth Wind & Fire, Guantanamo Bay has all the elements need to be a major success, acting as the catalyst to launch New Left Musik, and the Bay Area, into the national spotlight. The only question is... is the world ready for the New Left Movement? We shall see...
