Electric Sound Continuum Releases New LP 'Songs Dissolved In The Dawn'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The jazz-pop crew from the island of Cyprus called Electric Sound Continuum has released their latest LP record album, "Songs Dissolved in the Dawn." It has been released on the Major Seventh Records music label. Being comprised of 12 new, original tracks for an approximate playing of 30 minutes, "Songs Dissolved in the Dawn" makes an excellent introduction to this lighthearted, remarkable band of Mediterranean musicians.

The sound of "Songs Dissolved in the Dawn" is sunny and fun, with a vintage 1960s surf-culture feel. It bears many happy-go-lucky elements of French pop music of the period, but with rhythms borrowed from Brazil and themes taken from Southern California. It often sounds as if it should be played from vinyl - and with Track 5, "Midnight Transmission," the vinyl mood is made a sonic reality. Dreamy, beautiful, and endlessly stylish, "Songs Dissolved in the Dawn" is perfect summer listening for any fan of great music.

At the core of Electric Sound Continuum is Antonis Tsagaris, who wrote all the music except for some lyrical collaborations. Speaking frankly about his music career, he writes, "After being an obsessive music listener, I decided to give it a go as a composer. Ten years later, here I am!"

He cites a long list of beloved musicians as main artistic influences, such as The Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, The Beatles, Fennesz, Four Tet, Jimmy Webb, The High Llamas, Prefab Sprout, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Teenage Fanclub, Glenn Miller, John Barry, and Henry Mancini.

Commenting on the seasonal themes of "Songs Dissolved in the Dawn," Tsagaris replies, "My album is a tribute to my musical heroes and their Endless Summer-chasing music. It is music from SoCal and Brazil through a Mediterranean filter. It should be listened to easily, but it's not easy listening."

In addition to Tsagaris, ESC boasts the talents of Dimitris Menelaou and Stefanos Iacovides. Their first full-length record was an original soundtrack to the greek book "Εαρινό Εξάμηνο" (Sping Semester), written by Giorgos Stogias. They write of themselves briefly in their current bio:

"We like major sevenths, beach inspections (don't ask) and Tic Tacs. You can hear all of those things in our music. Even the Tic Tacs."

"Songs Dissolved in the Dawn" by Electric Sound Continuum is available online worldwide.

The LP "Songs Dissolved in the Dawn" is distributed globally by MondoTunes (www.MondoTunes.com) and is available at iTunes or www.top40-charts.com for convenient purchase and download.
