New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ ISL PR) When emiko went on tour in Japan in 2009, she had no idea that a 10 day stay would turn into a two year whirlwind of events, sparked by an unexpected romance and moving to England with her new found love. Back home in NYC with her now ex-pat amour, emiko chronicles her experiences of the last three years on her latest album, "Moving the Universe ...Part 1."
To celebrate the release of "Moving the Universe ...Part 1" a CD Release Party will be held at Rockwood Music Hall NYC on Saturday, June 29th at 7pm, and feature a live performance by emiko of the new album. Tickets for this exciting event range from $21 for the show to $35 for the show and CD bundle, and can be purchased at: https://tickets48.com/events/emiko-cd-release-concert. A unique factor about Tickets48 is that they offer discount ticket prices to buyers who participate in the social media sharing option which is listed on their website. Discounts are between 20-25%. Tickets must be purchased in advance; no tickets will be sold at the door.
Being released in two parts, "Moving the Universe" showcases emiko's funky pop-rock / singer-songwriter style, which has been described as a tapestry of sounds, bringing to mind "Adele meets Alicia Keys -- but edgier and more rock," and "Sara Bareilles but more aggressive and funky." Part 1 will be released on June 29th, 2013 and emiko is currently recording Part 2, slated for release later this year.
"Moving the Universe," Parts 1 and 2, tell the story of emiko's life's upheaval living in a new country, and struggling to come to terms with a culture foreign yet familiar. "'Moving the Universe' is a collection of songs I wrote about how the word 'yes' changed my whole life," she says. "It's about finding a power I didn't know I had and finding a voice I thought I had lost." So inspired by the power to create positive change in one's life, emiko's fans have started a social media trend using #MovingTheUniverse. From all over the world people are sharing how they are #MovingTheUniverse in their own unique way. Whether it's signing a petition for something they believe in, helping through charity work, or helping someone in need cross the street. In emiko's words, "Something as small as that can set off a chain reaction of kindness."
