New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Dominique Pruitt is pretty like a pistol and sassy like a tequila sunrise with a musical style that features major nods to the sounds of bygone eras, updating her pop Patsy Cline and '60s beach vibes with hints of Nick Lowe and The Cramps. Pruitt's five-song 'To Win Your Love' EP is out June 25 via Merovee Records with her self-titled full-length album out this fall. Dave Darling (Def Leppard, Jack Johnson) produced the EP, which features title-track single "To Win Your Love" written by Pruitt's father for her mother when they first met in the early '80s, playing together in Engelbert Humperdinck's band. Additional tracks are co-written with
David Morgan (Electric
Light Orchestra.)
Hailing from The Valley of Los Angeles, Pruitt's love of the '50s was spurred when she saw John Waters' Cry Baby at age 9. As she got older, everything about the '40s and '60s snuck into that special place in her heart as well. Now she's a flea market treasure scourer, a tiki drink sipper, a rhinestone cowgirl--really, she still has horses--and loves all that sparkles.
