NEW YORK (Rude Boy Music) - The original rude boy and one of the undisputed forerunners of the ska movement, Neville Staple returns with a new album 'The Rude Boy Returns' on 25th October 2004 through Rude Boy Music.
Best known for being the lead singer of The Specials and as one of the founding members of Fun Boy 3, Neville Staple is credited with changing the face of pop music not only once but twice. Neville's biography and past projects read like a who's who of rock. He has worked with such legends as Elvis Costello (The Specials 1979 - Chrysalis Records), David Byrne (Fun Boy 3 Waiting 1983 - Chrysalis Records) and Ali Campbell (Today's Specials 1996 - Kuff Records) to name only a few.
In addition to recording with some of rock's most famous, Neville has also shared the stage with such ska icons as Ranking Roger (English Beat), forming Special Beat. Although this line up never actually recorded an album, they successfully toured the US with Sting and Steel Pulse before embarking on their own headline tour.
Having spent recent years successfully touring Japan, South America and North America, Neville Staple returns to mark the 25th anniversary of Two Tone Records, with a new album 'The Rude Boy Returns' and a new label, Rude Boy Music. Produced by Neville himself at Planet Studios, Coventry and featuring collaborations with Mick Jones (The Clash) and Rat Scabies (The Dammed), 'The Rude Boy Returns' sees Neville keeping the spirit, attitude and style of his previous bands well and truly alive.
