New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Daft Punk's RandomAccess Memories hits stores today on Columbia Records. Japanese fans have the opportunity to buy the new album with bonus track "Horizon": the light meditative stroll is without a doubt the most tranquil piece of music they've composed to date, and comes sprinkled with Eno synths, Michel Rubini guitar work, and Tangerine Dream moods.
The track opens with nothing but a simple acoustic guitar, which is later joined by airy synths, twinkling piano runs and an effectively used pedal steel. It all comes together for a bit of a climax toward the end, but overall, the track remains the mellowest offering on an already subdued record by the guys who pioneered electronic dance music as we know it today.
In related news, we recently bundled all of Daft Punk's past collaborators into an easy-to-read feature - check that out here. And if you're already tired of RAM, then perhaps you'll enjoy its alternate version.
