LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Sticky Toffee PR) Born in Doncaster, England, Eugene Bruce is truly a talented songwriter and performer, whose material is very much influenced by his life growing up in the UK as a lower class outsider. With big dreams and a bigger appetite for success, Eugene started writing poetry on anything he could find from the early age of nine, however as Eugene got older and was introduced to artists such as Nas, Big Pun and Gravediggaz his love of poetry turned into a very healthy love for "Rap Music".
Eugene is known as a very outspoken individual who isn't scared to voice his opinion even if it conflicts with that of the masses... Often he shocks his audience with fearless thought provoking lyrics. Through his music you can see a very sceptical young man, the product of modern lower class Britain, who trusts nothing and questions everything especially authority. However what shines through most is the feeling that Eugene has come from a dark place, being beat down as low as he was prepared to go until he decided to fight back at life with a positive and almost vengeful bite. Eugene aims to inspire people to seek the truth in life, believe in themselves and stay positive through the highs and lows we all experience.
After being spotted rapping in 2010 performing his "First Dose Freestyle",Eugene was offered a foot in the door with the opportunity to perform as the support act for one of the leading names in the industry at the time, Tinchy Stryder, causing local hysteria around South Yorkshire during the run up to the event. It was to be Eugene's first time performing in front of a crowd and this crowd was 1000 people strong. Eugene did not disappoint, sending the audience into a frenzy and after receiving fantastic reviews in the local press,Eugene put together his first independent CD release "Invasion First!" which sold over 15,000 copies.
Having since supported a number of household names including Professor Green, Example and So Solid Crew as well as receiving support from BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC Introducing, Eugene Bruce has commenced work on his official debut album to be released later this year which will be spearheaded by the release of a number of online freestyles and promo singles, starting with this latest single 'Say It Again', featuring Jay Mya.
Highlighting Eugene's lyrical ability and immaculate flow, the single features the brash rapper going in hard alongside fellow northern MC Jay Mya.
