Hill Country Live Hosts Sunny Ledfurd, Yarn, Mockingbird Sun, Matthew Santos And More This April
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Hill Country Live, DC's go-to destination for Americana, alt-country, and roots music, brings the man who mixes Snoop Dogg with David Allan Coe Sunny Ledfurd, 'Exile on Main Street' channeling breakouts YARN, Billboard-beloved trio Mockingbird Sun, and Chicago's "rising superstar" - and unlikely Lupe Fiasco collaborator - Matthew Santos and more to their Capital Hill roadhouse this March.

Apr 12 - Sunny Ledfurd - Born in Chattanooga TN and growing up in Gaston County NC, Sunny Ledford taught himself guitar at age 15. Inspired by Guns n Roses, Snoop Dogg & David Allan Coe among many, Sunny's songs continually mix genres and push the envelope. With songs like "Pontoon Boat," "Adderall," and "Myrtle Beach," Sunny takes you through life in the south as he sees it and lives it.

Apr 19 - YARN - Brooklyn-based Americana/Alt-Country band Yarn's sound owes as much to Gram Parsons and Earl Scruggs as to Jerry Garcia and Exile On Main Street-era Rolling Stones. Following in a fine tradition that includes forward thinking roots bands like The Flying Burrito Brothers and New Riders of The Purple Sage, Yarn weaves roots music idioms into a fresh sound that turns on hipsters and fans of country music alike with technically impressive song-crafting and universal tales from the road of life.

Apr 20 - Mockingbird Sun - About a recent Iowa gig, Billboard wrote the band's "three-part harmonies, hooky choruses and upbeat presentation won over" the enthusiastic crowd. The Nashville trio, who has worked with "The House That Built Me" songwriter Tom Douglas, "capture the sense of peace and contentment that comes when you finally land where you belong" said CMT.

Apr 26 - Matthew Santos - Jim DeRogatis wrote "blessed with a gorgeous voice introduced to the world at large on Lupe Fiasco's "American Terrorist" and "Superstar," [Santos] is slowly but surely garnering attention for his own stripped-down folk-rock." The Chicago native has also been called a "rising superstar" by the Chicago Tribune and an artist "headed straight for the spotlight" by Time Out NY.
