NEW YORK (Shyne Fans Website) - Jailed rapper Jamal "Shyne" Barrow's phone privileges have bee taken away by prison officials who say his calls to reporters, his record label and a studio violated inmate rules. If an investigation shows Barrow was doing business over the phone before his latest C-D was recently released by Def Jam, state law would allow victims of his crime to sue for compensation. James Flateau, a state Department of Correctional Services spokesman says Barrow made about 100 phone calls that violate prison rules. Under state law, prisoners can't call cell phones, have calls transferred to another party, conduct business over the phone or call reporters who are not on their designated media list. An ongoing investigation indicates Barrow did all of those things and provided phony names on his designated call list. Barrow convicted for his role in a 1999 New York City nightclub shooting involving Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and Jennifer Lopez.
