Music site and Community, is producing a dynamic showcase to help those looking to get signed and be heard.
The MemphisRap.com Sony Urban
Music Showcase will run for 4-6 weeks starting August 13th, 2004 and will prove to be a lucrative local phenominal for the unsigned talent in the Mid-South. The showcase will include artists, songwriters, producers, and other like-mined talented individuals ranging in the genres of Rap, R&B, Gospel, and Neo-Soul. Littlejohn stated, "We know what
Memphis has to offer and know what the people want.
When it come to the
Memphis underground music scene, it isn't so underground anymore with the type of the exposure it has been getting. The quality is what makes it unique. It's always imitated, but can never be duplicated. With this showcase others will get a chance to see that
Memphis has more than Elvis and Blues to offer."
The winner(s) of the Showcase will receive over $10,000 in prizes and gifts which will include a recording deal, music video shoot, an original track on the MemphisRap.com Compilation album, possible signing from Sony Urban Music and other participating A&R's executive and a stint to participate in over 2 days of activities and events. The final deadline to participate will be announce in September.
MemphisRap.com is asking artists to have a CD/tape recording of themselves (acapella accepted), a photo (optional can be taken at audition), and a short bio along with their application and processing fee. Online registrants have the ability to select the venue and time of their Preliminary Audition or can opt to register for a MemphisRap.com I-Club Pro member account to receive free entry into the showcase.
Tickets are expected to go on sale soon for the 2 day Showcase.
