NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - The first five dates for the 2001 Family Values tour have been released, with some tickets going on sale today (Sept. 7). As tipped here earlier this summer, the tour will be co-headlined by Stone Temple Pilots and Staind, and will also feature Linkin Park, Static-X, Deadsy, and Spike 1000. The tour is set to bow Oct. 11 in Cleveland.

The tour, headlined by Korn in 1998 and Limp Bizkit in 1999, returns after a one-year absence. Visit its official Web site for information on pre-sale and other special offers. A more complete site is due to launch later this month.

For Stone Temple Pilots, Family Values will mark the group's first widescale North American tour in support of its fifth Atlantic album, "Shangri-La Dee Da." The set debuted at No. 9 on The Billboard 200 and features the single "Days of the Week," which peaked at No. 4 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and No. 5 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks tally in July.

Staind is touring behind its Flip/Elektra set "Break the Cycle," which is No. 13 in its 15th week on The Billboard 200. The single "It's Been Awhile" recently dropped out of the No. 1 spot on Mainstream Rock Tracks after 20 weeks on top.

Static-X's latest Warner Bros. album, "Machine," which bowed at No. 11 on The Billboard 200 in early June. Deadsy, who has recently opened some dates for Static-X, is due to release its debut album on Korn's Elementree imprint this fall. Spike 1000's Columbia debut "Waste of Skin" drops Tuesday (Sept. 18).

Here are the initial Family Values tourdates:

Oct. 11: Cleveland (CSU Convocation Center)
Oct. 12: Chicago (Allstate Arena)
Oct. 13: St. Paul, Minn. (Xcel Energy Center)
Oct. 15: Auburn Hills, Mich. (Palace of Auburn Hills)
Oct. 19: Columbus, Ohio (Schottenstein Center)
