The Cap Sells Out 8 Nights W/ Furthur In 72 Hours
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Capitol Theatre's 8-night April run with Furthur, featuring Phil Lesh and Bob Weir, sold out in just 72 hours. The impressive sell-out is just the latest in a string of highlights since the legendary rock palace reopened six months ago:

* Following a transformative renovation last year, The Cap--which in its 1970's heyday hosted concerts by Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, and more--reopened in the fall with a sold-out performance by Bob Dylan.

* Since then it's hosted everyone from Al Green and My Morning Jacket to Sleigh Bells and Morrissey, along with the Rascals' first public performances in 40 years.

* The New York Times raved "a rock theater that looks and sounds as good as the Capitol is something to celebrate," while Billboard said that "the lavishly decorated theater -- filled with mirrors, chandeliers and painstakingly restored detail -- looks absolutely stunning, and sounds even better."

* In NPR's 2012 roundup, Will Hermes called it "the platonic ideal of a live music room." CBS This Morning also took a behind-the-scenes look at the theatre: https://shorefi.re/ZErCcx

* Upcoming highlights include The Black Crowes, John Prine, B.B. King, and David Byrne & St. Vincent.
