NEW YORK (Epic Records) -With the release of GREATEST HITS VOL. 1 - due out October 19 on Immortal/Epic - KORN fans won't have to wait any longer for the ultimate collection of the Grammy-award winning band's songs. The 19-track disc encompasses one KORN classic after another (count 'em, 16), plus two unforgettable cover songs - the CD's first single, Cameo's "Word Up" and Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall, Parts 1, 2, 3" - along with a Dante Ross remix of "Freak on a Leash."

KORN - JONATHAN, MUNKY, HEAD, FIELDY and DAVID--have been performing the cover songs and the majority of the tracks from the GREATEST HITS package this summer while on the Projekt Revolution Tour. Here are a few initial reviews of KORN's summer 2004 performances:

"...its music as intense as ever. Korn also revealed its sense of humor with a cover of Cameo's 'Word Up,' but the highlight of the band's set was a typically aggressive version of Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick in the Wall,' the song's anti-establishment tenor right in line with Davis' own bleak world view." - Joshua Klein, Chicago Tribune, 8/9/2004

"...there's something hypnotic about the Bakersfield, Calif., quintet's dynamic wall of fury, and Korn tempered their hourlong set with enough singles (especially a jittery 'Freak on a Leash' and a blistering 'Y'all Want a Single') and surprises to stay vigorous throughout." --Jeff Vrabel, Chicago Sun Times, 8/9/2004

"Korn filled its 65-minute set with cathartic angst as it bulldozed through 'Make Me Bad' and the surging disco-metal of 'Got the Life.' The band breathed macabre life into Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick in the Wall' with trudging grooves and a note-perfect interpretation of David Gilmour's searing guitar solo by Brian 'Head' Welch. And its cover of Cameo's 'Word Up' was an unexpected jolt of levity that didn't undermine the band's dark side." - Patrick Berkery, Philadelphia Inquirer, 8/5/2004

"...an incendiary performance. Leading with 'Right Now' from their new CD, singer Jonathan Davis flailed his dreads, banging away to such scorchers as 'Falling Away From Me,' 'Got the Life,' 'A.D.I.D.A.S.' and 'Freak on a Leash.' Korn also showcased new songs, covers of 'Word Up' and 'Another Brick in the Wall' and closed with the blistering 'Y'All Want a Single.'" - Mick Stingley, Hollywood Reporter, 8/3/2004

"...pummelingly loud, with an occasionally tribal feel, and a frighteningly tight bass-drums interplay...they were positively engaging, particularly Davis...getting the audience going and even sneaking in some fun (with a cover of Cameo's 'Word Up,' still done in Korn style, of course, as was 'Another Brick in the Wall')." - Rick Massimo, Providence Journal, 7/30/2004

"Korn got the loudest, most rabid response from the crowd. 'Twist,' 'Got the Life,' 'Adidas,' 'Freak On A Leash'--these are tunes that remain among the finest the rap-metal genre has produced. Some interesting covers filled out Korn's set, among them a verse and chorus from Metallica's 'One,' and a hybrid take of Pink Floyd's epic mini-melodrama's 'Another Brick In the Wall Part I' and 'Another Brick In the Wall Part II.' Of course, robbed of their context, the Floyd tunes become sort of football game chants, ('We don't need no education!' anyone?) but that seemed just fine with the crowd. Korn wrapped its set with another Roger Waters-penned Floyd tune from 'The Wall,' the eerie 'Goodbye Cruel World.'" - Jeff Miers, Buffalo News, 7/29/04

Now, 10 years, six albums, and more than 20 million records deep into a career that spawned an epidemic of imitators, KORN remains untouchably atop the brutal genre they almost single-handedly spawned. Only a handful of bands ever change the face the rock; fewer still find ways to keep it fresh without selling out their original vision.
Who knows what uncharted territories KORN will traverse in their second decade as a band. But one thing's certain: this group does not rest on its laurels. Expect big things.
