 LOS ANGELES (Atlantic Records) - Top Los Angeles Acts "Fader," "The Lift" and "Hypongaja" selected to compete for a Gibson Guitar endorsement deal. "Gibson A Go Go - L.A. Rock Show," a multi-act concert has announced Fader, The Lift and Hypnogaja, as the top local bands who will perform as part of a showcase during the event on Tues. Aug. 24th at the world-famous Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles. The three local bands were selected by a screening committee comprised of music industry executives, artists and producers. The event is primarily designed to serve as a talent showcase to help local, unsigned rock acts. Atlantic recording artists, Shinedown will headline the event. Recently named No 1 on Billboard's Heatseakers chart and currently on a nationwide tour with the Van Halen, Shinedown will perform songs from their latest release, "Leave A Whisper." Advance tickets for "Gibson A Go Go" are available for $8 through Ticketmaster outlets. Gibson a Go Go will be hosted by renown Los Angeles radio personality, Richard Blade. Doors will open at 7p.m. Fader, The Lift and Hypnogaja will perform live at "Gibson A Go Go," where a diverse panel of "Friends of Gibson" judges, including: Gibson Guitar Corp. chairman and CEO, Henry Juszkiewicz; 311's Nick Hexum; legendary musician Jimmy Messina; Berlin's Terri Nunn; producer and member of the 80s mega-band Ratt, Warren DiMartini; and actor/musician Jason Schwartzman will award one of the competing bands a Gibson endorsement deal. Several other artists, producers and music executives will also be attending as VIP guests.
