LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts) Before Christmas, the BRIT Awards 2013 revealed Tom Odell as the winner of this year's prestigious Critics' Choice Award, with AlunaGeorge and Laura Mvula as runners-up. Tom becomes the first male winner in the award's history. On winning the Award he said: "I'm thrilled and honoured to win. I genuinely can't believe it. Thank you so much!"
The Critics' Choice Award is for British acts tipped for mainstream success in the forthcoming year who are yet to release their debut album. The full category list was also announced, with the inclusion of the first BRITs Global Success Award and the return of British Live Act for the first time since 2009.
