Dysfunctionfest 2013: Circle7 Bringing Dysfunction To Their Hometown
Pittsburgh, PA (Top40 Charts) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native metal band Circle7, along with their independent record label GarageDog Records, is striving to make the dreams of local musicians and fans in their hometown come true.

In mid-summer 2012 members of the band Circle7, in cooperation with independent record label GarageDog Records and musician apparel company BlackAsylum, began planning a one day summer music festival for June 15th 2013, that will last 12 hours and will combine some of the area's top local musicians with headliners including Circle7 and one national performer. They are calling this massive one day event DysfunctionFest, aptly named after Circle7's 2012 debut album "Road To Dysfunction."

"The goal is simple" stated Circle7 front man Mark Thomas. "We want to give local bands in the area a chance to play in front of a massive audience, on a stage with a national headliner that they may normally have never had the chance to perform with, and we want to do it in our hometown where resident fans may otherwise not have been able to attend. We are trying to change the music scene in our hometown and area."

Brittani Kiger, a resident music fan said "I think it's awesome that they're coming here! Our area doesn't tend to get cool stuff like that to happen to us. We all love our music around here and the bands we do have are just great and very determined. It's just so great that a huge event like this is pulling all their talent together to showcase some of the greatest bands around. I'm very excited to see everyone perform. "

A few of the hometown bands on the lineup include Chain The Scylla, Forever I Remain, Beyond Daylight, A Moment Of Victory and of course Circle7 will be performing as one of the headliners at their own show. Tyler Cooley of Chain The Scylla said, "I think I speak for everyone in CTS when I say that we're honored to have been given this opportunity. We have the privilege of sharing the stage with some amazing bands, many of which being friends of ours. This is more than a show. DysfunctionFest is a voice for our area and the music that comes from it. It's time to be heard."

Even with the positive intentions of the event, DysfunctionFest is not without resistance from smaller local promoters in the area. When asked about the negativity, Mark Thomas had this to say, "As with anything positive, especially on this scale, you will always have a small group of people who become jealous and bitter at the possibility of you accomplishing something that they can't. They'd literally rather put a negative spin on it and not have the event at all than to admit that someone else succeeded at something that they couldn't pull off. It's actually pretty sad that these people are so selfish and so willing to stoop to the mentality of children to prove it." He assures us however that the show will go on.

DysfunctionFest organizers say that there are still opportunities available for contributors, sponsors, vendors and bands, and that individuals, businesses and bands can take advantage of these opportunities by visiting DysfunctionFest's IndieGogo link (www.indiegogo.com/DysfunctionFest).
