Taken from her self-titled ep, now available on iTunes, "Breaking" puts a contemporary spin on classic soul with an irresistible beat and horn stabs that punctuate Sophia's yearning vocal. The video was created in collaboration with Los Angeles director, Ian Skalski whose previous collaborations include Deadmau5 and Mick Jagger. The lyrics to "Breaking" tell a story all-to-relatable to anyone who's found themselves in a one-sided love relationship, destined for heartbreak. Sophia admits, "I basically spent a few days in my room in hiding, listening to music not particularly working on songs. I was pretty devastated, and my emotional state set the chords. And the chords kind of just triggered the lyrics…I'm way too proud to have ever said this to someone in real life."
