Chilly Gonzales To Make Lincoln Center Debut Jan 11 With 10-Piece Chamber Orchestra
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Chilly Gonzales will perform the biggest American show of his career Jan 11, when he makes his Lincoln Center debut with a 10-piece chamber orchestra. The "hybrid classical musician and orchestral rapper" (New Yorker) will perform a pair of free shows at 7:30 & 9:30pm featuring his new piano concerto, commissioned specially for the performance, along with material from throughout his career including this year's acclaimed 'Solo Piano II' (Arts & Crafts), which the NY Daily News called "a contemplative reverie."

As the Wall Street Journal notes, "one never really knows what might happen when Mr. Gonzales takes the stage." Previous Gonzo performances have included appearances with collaborators like Feist, Peaches, and Drake, "piano battling" Andrew W.K., and setting the Guinness World Record for longest solo performance (27+ hours), all in his trademark robe and slippers. Gonzo concluded his sold-out performance with the BBC Symphony Orchestra in London this fall by crowd surfing across Barbican Hall during an orchestral mashup of Britney Spears, Queen, Michael Jackson, and the theme from Knight Rider.

Check out what the critics are saying about Gonzo, and see below for more details on the show, which was rescheduled from Nov 1 due to Hurricane Sandy:

"[An] erudite, comic maverick." - The Guardian

"Superhuman" - Interview

"One of those virtuoso artists that we never tire of." - Vogue (France)

"Earns a convincing claim to his irresistible tag line: 'Philip Glass meets Andy Kaufman.'" - Wall Street Journal

"Unmissable." - Time Out London

"Egotistical, manic, self-obsessed and clearly brilliant." - MTV Iggy

"Beautiful." - Stereogum
