The Business Week Of Nickelback!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Roadrunner Records) Nickelback was profiled in a major feature in Business Week magazine this week. The band and people around them (managers, agents, artists Chad Kroeger's worked with) are quoted discussing their working methods and how they've become one of the biggest bands on Earth. It's a pretty fascinating article, well worth checking out.

Says Chad, "I always thought it was strange when these artists like Kurt Cobain or whoever would get really famous and say, 'I don't understand why this is happening to me. I don't understand! Oh, the fame, the fame, the fame!'...There is a mathematical formula to why you got famous. It isn't some magical thing that just started happening. And it's going to move exponentially throughout your career as you grow, or can decline exponentially if you start to fail as an artist."

The profile reveals what many people already knew: that Chad is basically a 24/7 workaholic, constantly writing songs either for Nickelback or for other artists, running his label 604 Records, and more. At the same time, he insists that none of his songs are ever pure money jobs. "When you are writing a song for something else, if you are doing something for money, I always think that's bad luck."
