Everything You Wanted To Know About The 2012 Shanghai Midi Electronic Music Festival
Shanghai, CHINA (Top40 Charts/ Electronic Music Festival) October 27 will see the first ever Shanghai Electronic Music Festival held at the outdoor riverside venue on Binjiang Avenue (at the Yincheng Street Mall, number 9, near South Pudong Street). The pre-Halloween event will feature 28 Chinese and Foreign acts bringing their mind-blowing music to the festival's three stages. Electronic-music lovers, get ready for a dance music feast!

3 Stages, 3 Genres
This Shanghai Midi Festival includes 3 stages, each devoted to a different genre: the Traditional Electronic Stage, the Deep Bass Stage, and the Hip-Hop/Reggae Stage. The Traditional Electronic Stage will feature House, Techno, Minimal, Trance, and other similar styles of electronic music. This stage will be located on the riverside, an exceptionally good place to drink, dance, and enjoy the scenery. As deep bass music gets more and more popular everyday, the festival will for the first time feature a stage dedicated to the genre - the Deep Bass Stage. This stage will feature dubsteb, drum 'n bass, drumstep, fidget, and electro styles. Finally, the Hip-Hop/Reggae Stage will have numerous Hip-Hop, Reggae, Moombahton, and Trap acts with DJs, MCs, and bboys sharing the stage. There will also be a 呛声比赛 (is this a 'dis battle'?)to let music fans really get into the spirit of the party.

Well-Known Chinese and Foreign DJs Gather in Full Force
American Victor Vango, a prior member of New York's Caffeine, will be bringing his world-renowned explosive music to the Deep Bass Stage. Ben Huang, one of China's famous DJs, has traveled all over the world performing and is this festival's electronic music pioneer; he'll be performing on the Traditional Electronic Stage. Conrank, the producer of such acts as Grace Cheng and many other Chinese artists, has now become China's biggest Drumstep trendsetter. Hip Hop artist Cha Cha who has worked with many successful international artists, is not one of Shanghai's most-followed Hip Hop artists for nothing; her unique stage presence will intoxicate and hypnotize audience members, so come to the Hip Hop stage at 7:30 to drink in her performance. Later on, the Hip Hop stage will be featuring South Africa's Number 1 DJ, DJ Verse@ille and collaborating MCs Tian Tian and Little Tiger for a joint performance. Then, Beijing's popular 8-bit Music artist Sulumi, who has left his footprints on many stages all over the world. American DJ Bassterd will be joining the fold, bringing festival-goers on an electronic-infused trip like nothing they've experienced before! There's just too much to see at this incredible festival.

Awesome Events for Everyone
Not only will this music festival feature all kinds of musical elements, but they'll also include a large quantity of light shows, acrobatics, painting, graffiti, skateboard, a Hip Hop lyric competition and other events. This will undoubtedly be an unforgettable Halloween party!

At the site of the Deep Bass Stage, the festival is going organize a flash mob, and everyone is welcome to sing up! If you're planning on participating, go online and find the video "2012.10.27上海滨江公园迷笛电音节快闪活动舞蹈练习视频" (2012.10.27 Shanghai Binjiang Park Midi Electronic Music Festival Flashmob Dance Practice Video) to practice the dance moves! There will be a dress rehearsal held the day prior to the festival at 6 o'clock, so come and meet your fellow flash-mobbers! Attendees will receive a special gift, so be sure to make it to the dress-rehearsal! That and more will be going on the 27th, so don't miss it!

The Deep Bass Stage will also, for the first time, be featuring visual effects in the form of a 3D Globe. Also featured will be a 10-meter tower connected to the Bund's Baidu bridge via cables displaying 3D performances from America's Caffeine Video Production Company, in what is sure to be an unprecedented visual experience.

Additionally, this event will be sponsored by the public welfare organization Green Drinks, who are promoting environmental protection through a collection of activities including the aforementioned Hip Hop lyric competition, in which contestants will try their hands at crafting lyrics containing the message of "going green."

Electronic Dance Music (EDM) certainly isn't considered mainstream to the vast majority of Chinese music fans, but this festival is being held in order to give Chinese people the opportunity of understanding electronic music by inviting domestic and international DJs and groups and showing Chinese music fans a genre that has already developed into a mature and respected one in Westerners' eyes.

Music, beer, delicious food, clear water, and blue skies... these are all the elements of a perfect outdoor event, are they not? Well, also present at the festival will be delicious pizza, salad, sandwiches, hamburgers, BBQ, Indian curry, organic veggies, cookies, and other fresh snacks. How can you possibly miss this?!
