New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Chilly Gonzales sold out London's Barbican Hall Saturday for a one-night-only performance with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. The Guardian's review dubbed him an "erudite, comic maverick," while The Arts Desk raved that "his sheer ebullient joie de vivre propelled the evening into moments of gloriously deranged beauty."
Gonzo ended the night crowd-surfing while the orchestra hammered through a mashup of Queen/Michael Jackson/Britney Spears he'd arranged in a "Frankensteinish attempt to create a perfect pop song"- you can watch a clip here: https://bit.ly/UsbNpP
He'll make his Lincoln Center debut 11/1 with a 10-piece chamber orchestra and round out the rare American tour with performances at San Francisco's Swedish American Hall 11/2 and the Bootleg in LA 11/3. Let me know if you'd like to see him live or if you still need a copy of his new album, 'Solo Piano II' (Arts & Crafts).
