Lani Ford Returns To L.A. After The Revolutionaries Go Underground
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Lani Ford Official Website) In 2011, after the end of her hard rock trio STARK, Lani Ford started the Gypsy Cowpunk group Tania & The Revolutionaries, including Ford on vocals, guitar and sometimes mandolin, Laura Sativa on flute and percussion and Tony Mann on percussion and drums. The band has been hard at work finishing up a new EP before Laura and Tony (aka Yolanda and Teko) move to Nicaragua to prepare for the band's tour in Central America in 2013. The EP is due to be available before the end of the year. Their final U.S. show until the spring will be October 20th at Otto's Shrunken Head in NYC for the bar's 10th Anniversary Party.

In the meantime, Ford who recently studied with Renee Grant-Williams in Nashville after winning the Fallen Legends Tribute Songwriting Contest with her song "Hey Amy" written about Amy Winehouse, will return to L.A. for a repeat solo acoustic performance at the Los Angeles Women in Music Showcase November 14th, 2012. "Established in 1986, LAWIM is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) Public Benefit Corporation dedicated to fostering equal opportunity for women and men in the music industry and to promoting the advancement of women through empowerment, support, education, encouragement and recognition of their achievements. The goals and activities of Los Angeles Women in Music are founded on the belief that women and men working together in mutual respect, sharing abilities and expertise, will strengthen the music business and the music that is at its heart. At the same time, we recognize the unique and valuable contributions of women and advocate a musical world where these contributions are acknowledged and talents are nurtured. As such, we provide forums and opportunities for emerging talents; pay tribute to women who have made distinctive and/or significant contributions to our musical culture; recognize those who have contributed to the betterment of women in music; provide educational programs and events at large; and give rise to social and civic issues in our local community through musical endeavors." www.lawim.com

Lani is also diligently working on a solo record for release after the beginning of 2013 when she will receive her 8th ASCAP Plus Award: "the ASCAP Plus Awards program provides cash and recognition to writers who create music with a value beyond the scope of performance surveys." www.ascap.com
