Angie Stone's Newest Single "Backup Plan," Climbs The Charts
Fairfax, VA. (Top40 Charts/ Webster & Associates) Soul singer/songwriter Angie Stone will appear on the national radio programs The Michael Baisden Show and The Tom Joyner Radio Show in the coming week, as her new single, "Backup Plan," continues to climb the charts and lands at #23 this week. Her album's first single, "Do What U Gotta Do," is still holding steady at the Urban AC format, giving Angie two singles in this week's Top 30 and propelling her Rich Girl album into the Top 10 on Amazon's R&B Soul chart.

On October 5th, Angie will talk with Michael Baisden about the meaning behind her single, "Backup Plan," on his top rated radio show. A week later, on October 9th, she will perform live on The Tom Joyner Radio Show. In between, Stone will perform in New York City at 2012 Circle of Sisters Expo's sold-out concert on October 6th. Angie will also be the subject of a second profile on the CENTRIC network when her appearance on the Culture List airs later this year. Stone had previously been the subject of the network's mini-documentary series, As Written, last week.

The media has heralded Angie's return to her signature classic soul style, with Associated Press saying, "The soul songstress makes a triumphant return with...a collection of positive, in-your-face, fresh funky tunes...an immaculate album for one of the biggest soul stars of modern times." The Washington Post agrees, adding, "Without a misstep among the pressing beats and handclaps that animate these 15 tracks, the redoubtable Stone proves herself to be in complete command of the smart, sexy neo-soul she's been perfecting ever since the release of her signature 1999 single, 'No More Rain (In This Cloud)'."

Angie Stone has been nominated for three Grammy Awards, two Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, and has released four Top 10 R&B albums (with her The Art of Love & War going all the way to number one). An acclaimed songwriter, her work has been recorded by Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu, Raphael Saadiq, Musiq (Soulchild) and many more.
