Let's Get Messy Party October 17th During CMJ At The Rock Shop With Twin Tigers, Archie Powell & The Exports, Pretty And Nice And More
CHICAGO, IL. (Top40 Charts/ Western Publicity) Let's Get Messy Party October 17th during CMJ at the Rock Shop With Twin Tigers, Archie Powell & the Exports, Pretty and Nice, RoomRunner, Laura Stevenson & the Cans, Trapper Schoepp & the Shades and Fantasy Rainbow!

Let's Get Messy returns to Brooklyn for their annual CMJ Party on October 17th with a slew of buzzy young bands at the Rock Shop. This year's headliner is Twin Tigers, who have gotten raves from blogs like Aquarium Drunkard and NPR Music, who said "While the band's dark and explosive sound might recall the distortion of Jesus and Mary Chain and Sonic Youth as well as neo-psychedelic groups like The Black Angels…"

In direct support are Archie Powell & the Exports, who released Great Ideas in Action to a slew of critical raves. The band appeared on NPR's syndicated World Café, got raves in Billboard and many other publications as they toured the Midwest, East Coast and Canada. Viewing the world with skepticism and ennui and turning it into perfect pop songs are their specialty.

Pretty and Nice are a cryptic set of characters with a new EP out in November and quite a bit of buzz from MTV Hive. They hale from Boston and claim songs that are "born on sunny porches, zapped with electricity, arranged around dancing morpho-rhythms and slingshot skyward." They've played with The Thermals, Jukebox the Ghost and Built to Spill among others.

Roomrunner are "aural proof that no one kid can ever grow up with too much Nirvana" according to Impose Magazine, who described them as "A killer burst of noise-pop bliss that odes to the 90s without kissing too much butt." They record for Fan Death Records on cassette.

Laura Stevenson was schooled in the traditional music of her grandfather and grandmother (composer of "The Little Drummer Boy" and vocalist for the Benny Goodman Orchestra respectively) from an early age. It wasn't until she started performing with Bomb The Music Industry in her teens, that she began writing on her own. Privately crafting songs on the softer side of indie rock and traditional folk, Their live band grew into a quintet, often times swelling to eight members.

Trapper Schoepp has the ear of a troubadour, the eye of a journalist and the heart of a young poet. He began writing songs at a tender age with startling facility, distilling rock, folk and country traditions into tunes that are at turns spirited and melancholy. Run, Engine, Run has been gaining traction in the music media; Rolling Stone, CMTEdge, AOL Spinner and Blurt Online have featured the album recently.

Initially conceived as a bedroom recording outfit but now a signed recording artist, Fantasy Rainbow is the brainchild of Oliver Catt who writes, records and performs live with a revolving collective of local musicians. They've received support from radio giant BBC Radio among others and have a new album on worldwide release on November 5th.

7:30 - 8:00 - Fantasy Rainbow
