Bobii Lewis Hits Us With A 'Grenade'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ X Agency) Still only at the beginning of his journey, Bobii has already been tipped by Radio 1 DJ Reggie Yates as one of his favourite new artists and has spent two weeks as a featured artist on Channel AKA as their 'music of the week'. A rapper, producer, singer / song writer and actor, there is truly no limit to his skills.

"GRENADE" is produced by outfit Calvin Kooley Puckett and Kelby Clarke who between them have produced, mixed & Engineered for artists such as Lil Wayne, Pretty Ricky, Pit Bull, Baby Bash, Yung Joc, Jamie Foxx, R. Kelly, Ray J, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Jim Johnson, Jason DeRulo and P Diddy.

The single has resonated with Bobii's recent role as a frustrated youth 'caught in the system' in a short film set to premiere at BAFTA in October 2012. The film also features 'Hackney Heroine' Pauline Pearce and Darragh Mortell (The Jungle Book).

Bobii's role in the short is also channelled into the "GRENADE" video where he appears as an angry youth who's frustration is depicted in the video with the help of special effects transforming half his face into a Freddy Krueger type character alongside Pauline Pearce who plays the 'firm hand' needed to control today's youth movement.

The video has been directed by in-demand, rising video director Quason Matthews who is responsible for Dot Rotten's "Overload" and Sneakbo's "Sing For Tomorrow" featuring L Marshell, amongst others.

Hailing from North East London, Bobii officially hit the scene in January 2011 with the release of The Invasion Mixtape. A schools tour followed, with performances across the UK at live events including The Sunday Show, Flavour Mag Live, Something For Sundays, Sunday Night Live and The Cosy Show, Ronnie Scott's to name a few.

Fresh on the underground scene, Bobii's collaboration with PW Sensible in late 2011 was incredibly well-received across radio, video channels and online blogs alike. Two more collaborations - "Money On The Table" featuring Joe Black, Cerose and Young Don and "Down For Dat" featuring Young Don and Blackerfc followed.

Bobii then moved onto his second Mixtape, with the release of "The Mashup EP Mixtape", and the subsequent 'Mashup Campaign' which saw him release a new video online for each song every two weeks, amassing an impressive 370,000+ views on his official YouTube channel.

With performances at Rising Tide 1xtra Introducing Acoustic Sessions, Bigga Fish at XOYO and The O2 under his belt, the latter supporting Rick Ross, 2012 has been Bobii's biggest year yet.

He recently took part in the Youth Vote Campaign with Ashley Walters, Owen Jones, Michelle de Swarte, Jon Snow, Dan Schrieber, Miss Baby Sol, Alesha Dixon and Rizzle Kicks, performing alongside the likes of Sway and Princess Nyah at the event.
