Tenor Anthony Kearns to Perform At "Notre Dame: A Welcome Home" Pep Rally On August 31, 2012 At The O2 Arena
DUBLIN, IRELAND (Top40 Charts / Kirsten Fedewa & Assoc. LLC) World-renowned Tenor Anthony Kearns, the original founding member of The Irish Tenors, will perform at "Notre Dame: A Welcome Home" celebration before the Emerald Isle Classic Notre Dame v. Navy game. The musical extravaganza will be held at the O2 arena in Dublin on Friday, August 31 at 8:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:00 p.m

Mr. Kearns will sing "You Raise Me Up" -- an inspirational song written by Rolf Lovland, with lyrics by Brendan Graham.

The concert will be broadcast live on RTE (Ireland's National Television and Radio Broadcaster) and through RTE's YouTube on Friday, August 31 at 9:30 p.m. local time in Ireland and 4:30 p.m. EDT for fans across the world to enjoy. (www.youtube.com/user/rte)

The evening of celebration will feature elements of a Notre Dame pep rally with a fine line-up of top Irish performers for an unforgettable collaborative experience. Said Mr. Kearns: "I'm honored to share the beautiful music of Ireland with our American guests, and to participate in what will be a fabulous night of entertainment." Mr. Kearns has the largest repertoire of Irish music of any performer today, and is also well known in the United States for his numerous high level concert performances, including many military and other charity benefits.

Other performers include Liam O'Flynn, renowned Irish folk musician and master of the uilleann pipe, Brian Kennedy, protege of Van Morrison from Belfast, Damian Dempsey, Eimear Quinn, the ballad group, The High Kings, and the Irish choir, Anuna.

Mr. Kearns first took the American television audience by storm in 1999 as the youngest member of The Irish Tenors with whom he has 10 CDs. American critics hailed Kearns as perhaps the most likely of the three (Irish Tenors) to "achieve the level of tenor super stardom now enjoyed by Pavarotti and a handful of other singers."

Acknowledged as Ireland's Finest Tenor at the Dublin National Concert Hall's Silver Jubilee in 2006, Mr. Kearns is a respected ambassador of Ireland to the world and has presented the music of his homeland across the globe. He frequently performs at charity concerts, on television, and with the finest symphony orchestras and opera houses in Europe and America. Most recently, he participated in the 3rd Annual Lismore Music Festival and at a special concert for legendary flutist James Galway. He is a member of the GRAMMYs (The Recording Academy). www.anthonykearnsmusic.com.
