New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Criminal Records) With the UK and London right in the center of the Olympics, over 300 million people tuned in to watch some of the UK's finest bands, musicians, fashion designers, models, dance troops and of course athletes in what could only be described as spectacular opening and closing ceremonies: 'London doing it right'.
So while the UK showcased some of the great names like The Who,
Annie Lennox,
George Michael and even brought
Freddie Mercury back to life, some up and coming bands and artists are also getting their share of the London spotlight.
Having celebrated their 8th Birthday on Friday, London independent label, Criminal Records have just confirmed that The Kut, have been selected to perform at Olympic Park on
Thursday 30th August as part of the Paralympics festivities.
All female rock band, The Kut, were selected as part of an initiative to showcase new talent in association with London 2012. This is brilliant news for The Kut, who recently sold out their UK tour after coverage on NME TV.
Opening Ceremony itself is co-ordinated by film director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot) and features an acrobatic performance 35 meters above ground level put together with the help of over 3,000 volunteers. The Athletes'
Parade will then greet 4,000 plus athletes from across the globe as the games are declared open.

With a recent DJ set at the Launch of Kerrang! Klub, London and TV inclusion on A-Lists of NME TV, Sub TV and more, this all female band are fast establishing themselves as a trio of solid musicians. Having performed as finalists in the UK Hard Rock Competition, and currently in the top 20 UK bands in the UK Warped Tour competition, their recent sold out UK tour showed they can also put on a mean live show! Although well under wraps, their debut album is due out next year.
