LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts / Earshot Media) Diamond Youth (formerly Diamond) will release an EP on Boston indie Topshelf Records in early 2013. The band is currently recording with producer extraordinaire Brian McTernan (Balance and Composure, Hot Water Music, The Movelife).

In a joint statement the band explains, "We're definitely excited to record with Brian. Recording new songs is like giving birth to multiple babies at once. Except the babies have 4 dads. And Brian is delivering them."

Heavily influenced by "90's alternative music, skateboarding, and girls," and such bands as Weezer, Foo Fighters, QOTSA and the Beach Boys, Diamond Youth will be touring this fall with Misser and Young Statues. Dates kick off September 14 in Poughkeepsie, NY. They will stay on the road throughout the fall. Details on additional dates will be revealed shortly.

Between Sam Trapkin, Brendan Yates, David Wood and Justin Gilman, Diamond Youth brings quite the diverse resumé to the table. Despite being in other bands, this is no side project. Claiming Baltimore as their home, members of Diamond Youth are spread across Richmond and Chicago as well, creating an obstacle in terms of actually practicing as a band. However, using tools of the trade such as 3-way iChat, garage band, and voice note files, Diamond Youth has released 2 EP's in their short tenure since the summer of 2012. The latest, 'Don't Lose Your Cool', was produced by Paul Leavitt (All Time Low, I Call Fives) and released in June.

When it comes to what Diamond Youth has to offer, what you see is what you get; what you get is often times more than you can handle. With a rigorous background in art, design, and skateboarding, the boys of Diamond Youth are known for their ability to create and produce all of their own artwork, merchandise, web sites and videos. From silkscreen printing their own t-shirts, directing and editing their own music videos, to designing their own album art, Diamond Youth is a band that has a tight grip on their career and firmly believe in the DIY mentality.
