CANTON, Mass. (www.reebok.com) - Have you ever wondered what it would be like to walk in the shoes of some of the world's most glamorous celebrities?
If so, Reebok and rap icon
Jay-Z would like to provide you with the opportunity to do so!
Beginning July 19th at noon and running through 10:00 p.m. on July 28th, fans can log on to https://www.rbk.com and bid online for shoes designed by today's most compelling actresses, musicians and supermodels, including Beyonce, Tyra Banks, Joy Bryant, Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas and Queen Latifah. As part Jay-Z's community outreach efforts, five of the hottest women around have personally designed their own S. Carter women's tennis shoe which will be auctioned off with all the proceeds being donated to the Shawn Carter Scholarship Fund.
The bidding for all shoes will start at $100.
Each fashion-forward shoe in the "S. Carter Women in Entertainment" program conveys the celebrities' individual sense of style and character as well as their autograph. So whether you have an appreciation for the arts or if you just want to make the ideal purchase for an enduring fashion statement, the celebrity designed S. Carter tennis shoe delivers something rare and alluring - making it the ideal collectors item.
In addition to receiving the shoe, the winning bidder will take home the celebrity's sketch of the designed shoe accompanied with an authentic autograph. While only five winning bidders will ultimately own a celebrity-designed S. Carter tennis shoe, sneaker enthusiasts everywhere can find the original S. Carter tennis shoe in stores across the country. Taking its lead from old-school classic tennis shoes, the S. Carter Tennis features a retro look with clean lines and signature detailing.
Currently in stores for a suggest retail price of $80 in white/royal/red colorway for men and white/winery/navy colorway for women, the S. Carter Tennis shoe offers subtle accents of color at the sole and perfed detailing throughout the upper of the shoe.
Close to Jay-Z's heart, the Shawn Carter Scholarship Fund was created in 2003, and is spearheaded by Jay-Z's mother Gloria Carter to assist those generally not serviced by traditional scholarship means. The Fund provides disadvantaged youth, non-traditional High School graduates, GED recipients, and those who have been formerly incarcerated, an opportunity to fulfill their desire to attend college.
