LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ MSO PR) 2012 is a special year for Nashville's SOURCE AWARDS and its founding members. It marks the 10th anniversary of this key annual event, which honors women who've been a vital source in the success of
Music Row and the Nashville entertainment industry.
This year's honorees include the founding members of SOURCE: Shelia Shipley Biddy (Flying Island Entertainment, Decca, Hallmark Direction, Stringtown Records), Judy Harris (Judy Harris Music, ASCAP, April Blackwood Music/CBS Songs), Pat Rolfe (ASCAP, Chappell Music, Hill & Range Songs), and Kay Smith (founder of SOURCE Awards,Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum, Capitol Records, CBS Records, Sony
Music Nashville). Other longtime supporting members of SOURCE being honored are: Judy Wray (CBS Records, Capitol-EMI
America Records, EMI
Music Publishing). Connie Bradley (ASCAP), and
Karen Conrad (BMG Songs, AMR/New
Haven Music, Blendingwell Music,
Coral Reefer Music).
The celebration will be held at the new home of the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville (417 4th Avenue North). Founded in 1991, SOURCE is a nonprofit organization supporting women executives and professionals who work in all facets of the Nashville music industry. In 2002, the annual SOURCE Awards were established to pay respect to and honor the women who helped develop and build upon the foundation of the music industry in Nashville. SOURCE also pays tribute to women who presently make major contributions with their work in the industry.
