The Challenge offers Americans across the country a fun, simple and meaningful way to rebut recent derogatory comments by Current TV host Bill Press and others directed at our National Anthem, as well as to reinvigorate their patriotism by watching the band's new Star Spangled Banner music video and downloading the song to their iPods and other devices. The goal of the Challenge is to reach one million views & downloads by Election Day (November 6th).
Earlier this month, Madison Rising released a distinctive and widely acclaimed rock version of the Star Spangled Banner, updated with a special addendum to reflect our nation's struggles at the dawn of the 21st century. This year marks the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 during which Francis Scott Key originally penned the Star Spangled Banner.
