Mr Evan Sha, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt Shanghai Co Ltd remarked: "Despite reservations about the global environment, more international exhibitors are strengthening their sales focus on the evolving Chinese market. Also, to increase their profile at the show, some exhibitors such as Buffet, Dixon, Roland and Yamaha have increased their booth size by 20-50 percent."
Commenting on the show, Mr
David Kaye, Trade Show Manager for Taylor Guitars said: "Music China is a unique opportunity to interact with not only musicians and guitar players but also with many of our suppliers. Our market share has grown in China primarily due to many young Chinese consumers who are becoming more aware of non-Chinese brands through the Internet. This opens up more doors for US based companies like Taylor."
Another exhibitor, wind instrument specialist B & S GmbH from Germany, agreed that China is an important market. Mr
Martin Buller, Business Development, China said: "We appreciate the increasing importance of musical instrument education in Chinese schools, and the growing number of parents who support their children in learning musical instruments. It offers us a bright outlook as we are a supplier of high quality imported instruments in China so we are very confident about the growing significance of the Chinese market."
Japan pavilion makes its debut at the show
This year, 11 international pavilions from Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Spain, Taiwan and the UK will showcase their specialised products.
The Japanese pavilion is making its first show appearance and is supported by the Japanese government. Altogether 28 musical instrument manufacturers and organisations will join the pavilion.
The Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), organiser of the Japanese pavilion regards
Music China as a springboard to reach the expanding Chinese market. Mr Mochizuki Tomoharu, Overseas Trade Fair Division of Trade Fair Department for JETRO commented: "Compared to individual participation, a group entry will give exhibitors a more effective platform to present their products. We believe the Japanese pavilion at
Music China will provide exhibitors with an 'All Japan Consortium' resulting in an exceptional opportunity to explore the global musical instrument market."
