New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Tooth & Nail Records) The melodic indie pop outfit known as States has signed to Tooth & Nail Records and will be re-releasing an upgraded version of "Room to Run," on June 19th 2012. In support, the band will be kicking off a tour with The Rocket Summer starting May 31st, 2012.
States materialized after indie-scene favorites, Copeland, disbanded. Guitarist brothers Bryan and Stephen Laurenson began conceptualizing their new creative musical venture and the duo acquired Mindy White, formerly of Lydia. She stepped out from her usual position behind a keyboard, lending her endearingly captivating vocals to the project. Upon hearing the early mixes, ex-Copeland drummer Jonathan Bucklew and bassist Dean
Lorenz joined the lineup and filled out the sound. "The guys have past experience of working with Tooth & Nail, and I know they're really glad to be reunited! We feel so blessed to have States a part of the Tooth and Nail Family," says front woman, Mindy White.
Having toured with Circa Survive, Anberlin, Maps & Atlases, played 5 shows at SXSW 2012 and was a CMJ 2011 Festival buzz band, States cannot wait to get back on the road all summer long.
The group was hard at work producing indie pop gems worthy of a structured release. States provided the perfect introductory preview of what they have in store with their debut EP, "Line 'Em Up." "We have always enjoyed working with Copeland and are happy to welcome back some of the members to the Tooth and Nail roster on their new endeavor featuring Mindy White. States is an incredible band and look forward to a long successful relationship," says Tooth & Nail founder
Brandon Ebel.
